Shushpost

Terms of Service

Last updated: [PLACEHOLDER: date]

1. Who we are

Shushpost is run by [PLACEHOLDER: registered company name], company number [PLACEHOLDER: company number], registered address [PLACEHOLDER: registered address]. Contact: requests@shushpost.com.

2. Who can use it

Shushpost is for adults aged 18 or over living in the UK only. By creating an account you confirm you are 18 or over. We don't knowingly collect children's data.

3. What we do — and don't promise

We register you with free opt-out services, track their renewal dates, and contact companies that send you junk mail to ask them to stop, on your behalf and with your signed authority. This cuts down junk mail; we can't promise it will stop all of it. Some opt-outs take up to four months to take effect, and some senders may ignore requests.

4. Packages and prices

Everything is a one-off purchase. There is no subscription and nothing renews or charges automatically.

Snap packs — Snap 10 £9.99; Snap 25 + Starter £19.99; Snap 50 + Starter (household) £34.99. Existing customers can also buy Top-up 5 snaps for £4.99. One snap is one sender we contact. Unused snaps don't expire.

Starter (included in the Starter packs) — we file free UK opt-out schemes for the people you name, with each person's consent and your signed Letter of Authority: Mailing Preference Service, Baby MPS (if chosen), Your Choice, Fundraising Preference Service, TransUnion and Experian marketing opt-outs, and Royal Mail Door to Door (by signed letter in the post). These schemes are free to do yourself; you pay us for doing, tracking and renewing them.

Scheme renewal — Royal Mail Door to Door and Your Choice last about two years. We'll email you before they lapse. Renewing costs £4.99 per scheme, paid once when you choose to renew. We never renew or charge automatically.

Prices include VAT where applicable. Payments are processed by Stripe.

5. Your 14-day right to cancel

Under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013, UK consumers normally have 14 days from purchase to cancel a service contract and get a refund. If you ask us to start the service within those 14 days, and then cancel, we may deduct an amount for the service already provided. [PLACEHOLDER: Steve to confirm how the 14-day right applies to snap packs once snaps have been used, to Starter schemes already filed, and to scheme renewals, and the refund method]. To cancel within 14 days, email requests@shushpost.com.

6. Your responsibilities

Give us accurate details, only snap post addressed to you or your household, and only sign authority for yourself. Don't use the service unlawfully or to harass anyone.

7. Liability

Nothing in these terms limits liability that can't be limited by law, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or your statutory rights as a consumer. Otherwise our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. [PLACEHOLDER: liability wording to be reviewed by a solicitor]

8. Ending your account

You can close your account at any time by emailing requests@shushpost.com. We may suspend accounts that break these terms.

9. Privacy

See our Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy.

10. Law

These terms are governed by the law of [PLACEHOLDER: England and Wales / Scotland / Northern Ireland]. You can bring claims in the courts of the UK nation where you live.
